Before Marigold Veterinary initiates work with a family, we need to establish a veterinarian-client-patient-relationship and make sure we are a good fit!

An initial consultation takes place as a meet and greet in the home and typically lasts 1.5- 2 hours.

The initial consultation includes:

  • An exam (required)
  • A complete evaluation (Western and/or Traditional Chinese Medicine evaluations, review of any medical records, adoption paperwork, vaccine & deworming records, lab work, x-rays, & specialist reports)
  • A discussion of recommendations & treatment plan
  • A mini acupuncture session for patients new to it (if desired)
  • Full acupuncture treatment for veteran acupuncture patients (if desired)
  • Unlimited Q & A during the session
  • Setting up your online pharmacy account
  • Healthy treats for your pet!

During the first session, we typically include a mini-acupuncture session (two or three needles to begin with) to see if your pet will tolerate acupuncture. If it causes stress, then your pet may not be a good candidate for acupuncture or benefit from it. If your pet is a veteran acupuncture patient, then we’ll get right to it!

If acupuncture doesn’t work out, or you are not interested in acupuncture for your pet, we can still work together! We will just work in a different way.

All patients are seen by appointment only, Monday-Friday 9am-7pm. All calls, emails, and texts are handled during business hours only. Marigold Veterinary is closed on the weekends.

Marigold Veterinary does not perform euthanasia or see patients on an emergency basis. Therefore, it is mandatory that you have a concurrent traditional veterinarian in a clinic that you feel comfortable with in case of emergency. We can help you find one, if needed!
